The University of Iowa Presents:
Energy Expo 2006
September 27, 2006 - 9:00am-6:00pm
FEATURED GUEST SPEAKER John Heinen currently serves as the Environmental, Health & Safety Director for a foundry in southwest Wisconsin. His Bachelor of Science degree is in Industrial Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Since his graduation in 1989, he has been involved in a wide array of both vocational and personal interest activities that have taken him both deeper into theory and further into applying pragmatic approaches to ever more challenging problems. Borrowing from authors such as Douglas R. Hofstadter, Rudy Rucker, Charles T. Tart, Timothy Ferris, Buckminster Fuller and Leon Lederman and bringing age-old traditions together with esoteric methods in an environment of contemporary scientific findings, John’s aim is (similar to Bruce Lipton’s) to form a unified synthesis from seemingly disparate aspects of human experience, for the purpose of revealing meanings and coming into greater harmony with the living world. |

Although many of the findings and confirmations brought to light by these organizations reinforce a somewhat dismal interpretation of the future, he feels that there are reasons to remain committed and engaged in a highly effective and lucid life – as in martial arts, the fighter never gives up, even though the immediate situation looks hopeless. In our times, resignation is just not an option. |

John will be addressing the Global Warming Educational Rally at 5:00pm on The University of Iowa Pentacrest. |
